About the Role

This position is for an experienced and stylistically versatile woodwind specialist to lead and coordinate our woodwind department in an ongoing, full time role beginning Semester One, 2022.

The main teaching responsibilities of the role involve the Year 5 - 8 instrumental programs, the Year 9 elective program, as well delivering private tuition and a high-level contribution to the co-curricular ensemble program. The role will work closely with the Head of Brass to oversee the development of the wind band program Years 5 - 12.

We are looking for an exemplary practitioner to join our team, who displays the desire and skills to produce outstanding young musicians. Music technology skills and conducting experience are not essential but may be considered an advantage.

About You

You are a woodwind player with strong technical abilities and versatility across a range of musical genres. You are an accomplished performer with extensive performance experience and have the ability to build rapport with young musicians

You are a VIT registered teacher and a tertiary qualification in Musical Performance will be highly regarded. Skills in composition, music technology and improvisation may be an additional advantage.
