- Convenient Western Suburbs location

A leading independent, coeducational school in the heart of Melbourne's fast-growing west, Westbourne's innovative learning culture is underpinned by a strong tradition of academic excellence and student achievement. Working at Westbourne means you will be welcomed into a supportive community where you will be part of a thriving culture of professional growth and advancement.
We are seeking applications from inspirational educators who support the school's vision and values and who will actively contribute to the twenty-first century learning environment.
This is an excellent and unique opportunity for a qualified Visual Arts teacher who would relish the opportunity to implement a vibrant, developmental and appropriately challenging Visual Arts program within our Junior School. It is an ongoing part time role, which in 2019 will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
This position involves helping students develop their aesthetic appreciation and understanding. You'll use a variety of art materials and tools to inspire them to develop their creativity and self-expression.
In addition, you will contribute to the school's co-curricular activities on a pro rata basis and embrace collaboration with the Head of Campus and other teachers on development of the curriculum and the use of arts as a language.
You will be passionate about inspiring children to participate, question, wonder and innovate. You will have appropriate teaching qualifications and experience teaching Visual Arts and ideally have worked in a primary/junior school environment, however this is not essential.
You will bring collaborative skills and flexibility within a team environment and importantly, be excited by the opportunity to assist with the process of selecting, preparing and exhibiting student artwork both in and out of the School.
Whilst our art spaces are defined, they are incorporated into the respective year level areas. As such, you will be comfortable moving between spaces to facilitate the art program.
What we offer
